bedding can be made up of many different ingredients. The
wonder of working with redworms is that they are so adaptable.
We use a simple formula for our bedding, which provides the
necessary environment for a worm population.
Redworms
are surface dwellers. They require loose bedding with air
capacity, and bedding that retains water so well that the
worms are always moist. The
bedding should be of a density to hold household garbage with
no odor escaping.
Our
solution is a mixture of finely sifted organic compost specially
formulated at Rising Mist, with organic aged sawdust added.
These combined ingredients make into a perfect bedding
that the
worms thrive in.
